Fleece Products
Alpaca fleece is a very durable, luxurious and silky natural fibre. It is beautiful when knitted or woven into garments or soft furnishings. While similar to sheep's wool it is very lightweight, warmer to wear, and has no lanolin - which gives it the added advantage of being non-irritating against the skin and hypo-allergenic.
Alpaca fleece has similar qualities to Merino in that it wicks moisture away from the skin. It is water resistant, breathable (making it odour resistant), and is a low fire risk - being difficult to ignite and thus making it perfect for children's wear.
At Terra Nova Alpacas we use only our best fleeces from our own white, fawn, grey and black alpacas to produce high quality individualised products which are woven or hand-knitted here in Upper Moutere by a local Creative Designer.
