Fleece Products

Alpaca fleece is a very durable, luxurious and silky natural fibre. It is beautiful when knitted or woven into garments or soft furnishings. While similar to sheeps wool it is very lightweight, warmer to wear and has the added advantage or being non prickly against the skin making it hypoallergenic. Alpaca fleece has similar qualities to Merino in that it wicks moisture away from the skin, it is water resistant, breathable making it odour resistant and is a low fire risk as it is difficult to ignite thus making it perfect for childrens wear.

At Terra Nova Alpacas we use only our best natural un-dyed fleeces from our own white, fawn, grey and black alpacas to produce high quality individualised products which are woven here in Upper Moutere by a local Creative Designer. We have chosen to use un-dyed fleece highlighting the natural colour variation.

We are currently working on producing a range of cushion covers to compliment the throws. Later this Summer we will also have a selection of carded fleece in un-dyed natural colours. These will be available in packages of 100gm.

As well as these products we also have a range of raw fleeces available in a variety of colours.
